Our fall show features the musical talent of Pump Action! “Pump Action is a drunk backflip off a moving vehicle, executed with perfect form. Emanating from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, this group roots their approach to the new wave of funk rock in a refined knowledge of jazz fusion techniques and theories- but this is not just a show for jazz kids. With high flying guitar solos and soaring vocals, all rooted in a groove that is anything but restrained, Pump Action honors the breakneck motion of their funk forefathers to make it simply impossible for an audience to stand still. Lately, Pump Action has found a new wave of attention through social media, with their unique brand of funk rock earning them wide acclaim and viral recognition for the pure adrenaline rush and awe that their music inspires.
